Company History
The Lineage we know today started with the purchase of a single warehouse in Seattle, Washington. Since that acquisition in 2008, we’ve welcomed some of the most prestigious and respected cold chain companies into the Lineage family.
Today, we are an organization that is deeply rooted in generations of cold storage expertise and on the cutting edge of technology and innovation.
Our branches may be far-reaching, but our roots run deep – in fact, Lineage’s work dates back to the founding of New Orleans Cold Storage in 1886! Between then and now, Lineage has welcomed some of the world’s leading cold storage companies, many of which are family owned and operated, into the Lineage family. We remain grounded in our heritage and embrace the many owners, family members and employees of these companies who continue to work with Lineage today.
The Lineage name combines our unique legacy and expertise with the connectedness of cold chain logistics. Similarly, the shield represents the companies that were built by entrepreneurs and families over decades and generations and today form Lineage. It is also symbol of the collective strength behind our company - our people.
