Description
We are looking for a highly motivated, hands on Automation / Mechanical Engineer to support the design, optimization, and automation of manufacturing processes specific to twisted wire brush production. This role requires a blend of mechanical engineering skills and hands-on experience with automation systems to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and optimize mechanical systems and equipment used in the production of twisted wire brushes.
- Automate manual processes including wire feeding, twisting and trimming using PLCs, sensors, and motion control systems.
- Work closely with operators and technicians to identify bottlenecks and develop mechanical or automated solutions.
- Integrate robotics and custom automation cells into existing production lines.
- Create and maintain CAD models and technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Support the setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new machinery and automation solutions.
Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analysis for automation projects. - Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for custom machine design and component sourcing.
- Ensure all mechanical and automation designs comply with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Continuously monitor machine performance data to identify trends and implement improvements.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or automation within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with twisted wire brush machinery or related forming/wire-processing equipment is a strong advantage.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD).
- Hands-on experience with PLCs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley), pneumatic systems, and motion control.
- Knowledge of production line integration and process flow optimization.
Skills:
- Strong problem solving-solving skills and troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
